Something different – Hannah Sylvester is a highly experienced Medical Herbalist and wild nature guide from Lincolnshire. She helps people nurture, grow a deeper connection with, and establish confident interactions with the wild plants and trees on their doorstep.

In this talk Doug shares two easy ways to garden with tired joints, changing the way we garden, and then using some of the amazing new tools that are out In this talk Doug investigates the tools, the tips and the techniques to allow us to garden in later years.

Wack’s Wicked Plants are a small, North-Yorkshire based, specialist nursery, who grow, display and sell Carnivorous Plants at Shows and Fairs. Peter will be talking about how Wack’s Wicked Plants has developed and taking part in large RHS shows, including Chelsea. He will also be talking about how to care for and propagate individual species.

Unfortunately Jo has apologised that she is unable to come. Because we have no visiting speaker there will be no admission charge on this occasion. Brian has kindly agreed to show slides of his garden as it developed in Winterton, This will be followed by a quiz with prizes.

Martin Fish has been a regular speaker visiting Winterton and District Cardeners Club . On this occasion Martin will be accompanies by his wife Gill. Martin will be talking about what can be grown over the winter period and Gill will be giving ideas about how winter produce can be prepared and presented.

Neil Timm is well known to Winterton amd District Gardeners club . Many of us have visited the Fern Nursery at BInbrook and added his ferns to our gardens. His talk tonight is about the exciting range of gardens to visit in Lincolshire. Sadly a few gardens have closed in recent years but Neil will offer inspiration about possible visits to venues across the county.

On June 18th 2025 members of the Gardening club and guests visited a local garden with a spectacular display of bonsai. Everyone had a lovely evening and we raised £100 for the Air Ambulance. A big thanks to the hosts for the evening. Additionally a number of members have a newly kindled interest in Bonsai.

19:30 21st May 2025. We are delighted to welcome Paul Czartovskian to introduce the world of Hostas. Among the best of all foliage plants (summer flowers are a bonus), hostas vary from large plants to more diminutive types that are suitable for rock gardens.

19:30 16th April 2025. As Peter Walker (Wack) is no longer available for this date we are pleased that our President Gail Summerfield has stept in to talk about Scented Pelargoniums. Gail has an extensive collection of these plants and there may be the opportunity for you to purchase one of these beautiful indoor plants
